Security Exception in FileUpload demo (Silverlight 3) Posted: Jan 04, 2010

Hi,

I have downloaded the FileUpload demo zip and am trying to play with it.

I got few problems with it and wondering if somebody can help me (and yes, consider me a n00b with Silverlight):

1. The zip does not contain VS project for Website part. I have re-created it myself but it would be nice to have all the original files present.

2. The demo throws Security Exception in Silverlight code. It happens when the panel is already displayed and I click on the upper node "My Documents" to expand. It looks like the exception happens somewhere in Liquid DLLs. No code in Page control got executed yet. For whatever is worth: my Vista-64 workstation is under strict UAC and I am running as a user.

3. I just have noticed one more problem: Ctl-Ins (copy) does not work in this Edit control. Curiously enough, Shift-Ins works (as well as CtlC/Ctl-V)!

Thanks!

RE: Security Exception in FileUpload demo (Silverlight 3) Posted: Jan 10, 2010

Hi,

1. Can you confirm you have downloaded the demo from the main demo page?  This demo contains the website solution and should work out of the box.

2. In terms of permissions you need to ensure ASP.NET has the appropriate rights to create/modify files within the website folder.

3. Thanks for this, there are certain limitations with keyboard shortcuts in Silverlight (i.e. the browser may consume the keypress before Silverlight) and we will see if this one can be implemented.

Thanks!
