Visual Studio 2010 Beta Supported? Posted: Nov 24, 2009

We've been trying to get Liquid controls in to the Toolbox in VS2010 Beta 2 and it just doesn't seem to work for us.  We simply add the DLL's as references to the project and they add OK but the controls never appear in the Toolbox.

Other control libraries can be added e.g. ComponentOne fine but we want to use your guys controls because they're perfect for what we need to do.

Is VS2010 Beta 2 supported by these controls?

Cheers,

Mike

Solved - maybe you guys want to add this to the installation notes:-

If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7 and you download the ZIP file from VectorLight and open it using the Windows Explorer ZIP utility (instead of say WinZip) then the .dll control assemblies will be "blocked" by Windows.  This happens when you download files and Windows sees they're from the Internet and applies blocking to protect your system from potentially malicious code.

Before you can use the controls you need to open that folder in Windows Explorer and for each of the .dll assemly files:

1) Right-click and select Properties from the popup menu.

2) Click unblock to unblock the file.

Once this is done, add them to your project as a refernce as normal.

Perhaps an installer from you guys would eliminate this happening - because of the cryptic messages from VS2010, it took about 2 days to come accross the simple solution to the problem.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Thanks for posting this, we will certainly add some installation notes into the download zip.

Thanks!
