Source Code Renderer

If you need to display source code examples on your website in a manner that makes them similar to viewing the code in Visual Studio then this module is for you.  It can accurately render C#, VB, Javascript, HTML, XML, XAML making the code easy to read for the website visitor.

Simply paste your source code into the Source Code field, and select the source code type from the Type drop down list.  Valid types are:

  • C#
  • VB
  • Javascript
  • HTML
  • XML
  • XAML

The Wrap Content option indicates whether the content should wrap onto a newline or should scroll.  Here is the rendered output from the above code example as it would appear on the web page:

<h1>This is my heading</h1>
<p>Some paragraph text...</p>
<h2>Another heading</h2>
<p>This is rendered in a similar manner to Visual Studio</p>

The Source Code renderer module can also do languages such as C# or VB, here is an example of the output for some C# code:

using System;
using System.ComponentModel;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Linq;
using System.Web;
using System.Web.UI;
using System.Web.UI.WebControls;

using cmsx;
using cmsx.Common;

[EditorModuleInfo("Hello World", "Testing")]
public partial class HelloWorld : System.Web.UI.UserControl
{
    [EditorPropertyInfo(true, "Output Count")]
    [DefaultValueAttribute("1")]
    public int Count { get; set; }

    protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
    {
        string currentPageTitle = Manager.Current.Title;

        for (int i = 0; i < Count; i++)
        {
            Controls.Add(new LiteralControl("<p>Hello from " + currentPageTitle + "!</p>"));
        }
    }
}
