Description

Ooh... I liked this one!...



Interface was simple and easy to understand. I liked the little wobbles that went through the tiles as things exploded. Although those seemed to disappear as I played... Hm. Odd.



I had a go at some challenged, and the "perfection" mode. Good extensions to the core game.



A couple of gripes:


- There is no way of "un" selecting a tower once selected. I tapped escape, but it didn't help.


- The tower, once planted, stayed selected. This is ok, I guess, but I would've expected it to remove the selection. Otherwise, you could plant a load of towers around the place, and have the last one show the ring, which can be a little distracting when you're trying to see what's going on. You're effectively forcing the player to click away from the tower after they planted it. It may seem a little thing, but I think it would smooth the game out a lot.


- The earthquake ripples could look better. I understand the blocks are quite big, and it's probably CPU intensive as it is... But the physics of it seem a little sketchy somehow. Not as smooth as I would've liked it. It may be to do with the fact that the tiles converge and become a blob of white, rather than every neuance of the ripple shown off as it happens...Perhaps you could ripple the borders of the tiles instead? Just guessing here..


- Last point: Lightspeed waves. What on earth is going on there, man? Nice, steady flow of baddies, and then suddenly a crazy mass of speedy dudes flying about the place. It even looks like some of them move backwards and forwards (although this may be a trick of the FPS slowing or something). I'd strongly recommend calming those guys down!



But that said, overall a very good game.
