How to set the icon property from code behind? Posted: Sep 07, 2010

First of all, thanks for this control which has made life very easy while using treeview.

I have a difficulty setting the icon property from code behind? I add nodes at runtime as required. I also tried setting the icon property. However the icon does'nt show up on the page when i run the application

I have tried doing the following in my xaml.cs.

node.Icon = "images/FolderIcon.jpg";

node.Icon = "~/images/FolderIcon.jpg";

node.Icon = @"\images\FolderIcon.jpg";

node.Icon = @"~\images\FolderIcon.jpg";

I also tried setting the absolute path

node.Icon = @"D:\Source\Treeview\images\FolderIcon.jpg"

But none of the above worked. Please let me know the solution to this.

Hi,

Your first example should be correct.  However it may be better to specify the image in the node constructor:

Node myNode =  new Node("test", "My Node", false, "images/FolderIcon.jpg");

It is also possible to use the IconContent property, you can directly assign an image or whatever UI Element you please.

myNode.IconContent = new Image() { Source = new BitmapImage(new Uri("images/FolderIcon.jpg")) };

Thanks!

Hi

Dan

Thanks for the treeview control

I can not set the icon for a node by means of the code I have this Image.source

Node.IconContent = Image.Source;

Thanks,

Hi,

The IconContent property expects a UI element, so have you tried:

Node.IconContent = Image;

Bearing in mind you will need to create a new Image element for each of your nodes.

Thanks!
