Node selection problem Posted: Mar 04, 2011

Hi Dan,

I have a node selection problem.

Look at this code

The XAML:

<StackPanel>

            <Button Content="Populate tree" Click="Button_Click" Width="100"/>

            <Liquid:Tree x:Name="treeView"

                         Populate="treeView_Populate"

                         EnableMultiSelect="False"

                         Height="100"/>

</StackPanel>

The code behind:

private bool _rootBuilding = true;

private void Button_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)

{

    treeView.BuildRoot();

    treeView.ExpandAll();

}

private void treeView_Populate(object sender, TreeEventArgs e)

{

     ObservableCollection<Node> nodes = (sender is Tree ? ((Tree)sender).Nodes : ((Node)sender).Nodes);

     if (_rootBuilding)

     {

           nodes.Add(new Node("0", "Root", true));

           _rootBuilding = false;

     }

     else

     {

           nodes.Add(new Node("1", "Child 1", false));

           nodes.Add(new Node("2", "Child 2", false));

           nodes.Add(new Node("3", "Child 3", false) {IsSelected = true});

     }

}

When the button is pressed the tree is populated.

The last node is set as selected.

Now, when I click on any other node, the previously selected node (Child 3) remains selected.

It will deselect only if I click on it before selecting another node.

Is there a quick fix/workaround?

Hi,

You could try using the SetSelected() method on the Tree object:

private void treeView_Populate(object sender, TreeEventArgs e)

{

    ObservableCollection<Node> nodes = (sender is Tree ? ((Tree)sender).Nodes : ((Node)sender).Nodes);

    if (_rootBuilding)

    {

        nodes.Add(new Node("0", "Root", true));

        _rootBuilding = false;

    }

    else

    {

        nodes.Add(new Node("1", "Child 1", false));

        nodes.Add(new Node("2", "Child 2", false));

        nodes.Add(new Node("3", "Child 3", false));

        ((Tree)sender).SetSelected(nodes[2]);

    }

}

Let me know if that helps you.

Thanks!

((Tree)sender).SetSelected(nodes[2]);

You can't cast to Tree at this moment. The sender is of type Node.

Anyway, I got it to work like this:

...

var node = new Node("3", "Child 3", false);

nodes.Add();

node.ParentNode.SelectChild(node.ID);

Thanks
