losing selection when pressing left key on topmost node Posted: Jan 20, 2011

I have encountered the following behavior when navigating a treeview with the arrow keys.

Everything works great except for when I am positioned on a collapsed first level node (a node with no parent node). If I press the left key, my selection is lost. I guess this happens because the default behavior is passing the selection to the parent node, but in this case there no parent node.

Am I doing something wrong here? Is this the expected behavior?

This would be very annoying for users quickly navigating a tree, going up many levels and pressing one left key too many. I can't see no case in wich this behavior would be useful (maybe im wrong).

I've tried catching the key down event on this case and setting the e.Handled property to true to override this behavior, but it's not working.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Hi,

Thanks for posting this.  I can confirm it is a bug that will be fixed in the next version.  In the mean time, if this is urgent for you and if you are able to edit the source code I can let you know how to fix it if you want?

Thanks!

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the reply!

No, don't worry, it is not urgent. Any word on when will the next version be out, though?

Best regards,

Ed.
