I would propose to add the "Opened" event handler to the DropDown control.

With this event user will be able to handle the mouse-input closing the popup, for example when user clicks somewhere on the screen but not in the popup.

For now we have no way to figure out when exactly the popup opened. At least I didn't manage to find one.

Consider it done.  This will be included in the next version.  You could also close the popup by applying focus to another control.
