Chaos Tournament - Seems to be broken Posted: Feb 07, 2010

Hello,

I was a huge fan of this game on the Spectrum, but the version you've published doesn't seem to work. As soon as the game begins, the Human controlled character instantly dies. I've tried this on both Vista and XP machines, also setting various players as Human and it does the same thing every time.

The conversion looks great, shame about the game-breaking bug. Hope it can be sorted

Cheers - seems to be working perfectly now, thanks for the quick response.

Now I've had the chance to play it, I can say it's a superb remake, easily the best of the numerous Chaos remake attempts.

Also, a few bugs - I'll list them here as they turn up. (not expecting these to be fixed by the way, but worth listing in case there's another release)

1. Ranged flying creatures (dragons, manticores) - during the move phase, once the player has moved one of these units, no other unit can be selected and the player has to finish the phase in order to continue. This is a pain when the player owns multiple such units, as effectively only one can be used, at the very end of each move phase.

2. Subversion - Computer player successfully subverted a human player Red Dragon unit. Following this, the game did not recognise the subversion. When it was time for the computer's move phase the game froze as the AI seemed unable to recognise that it now owned the unit and complete the session.

On the site, the following link is broken - Select: Games>Chaos Tournament> (it links to the other shooting game instead)

3. Raise Undead has same effect as the aforementioned Subversion bug (3.) CPU player raised a Hydra as undead, but game froze after one move session.

4. Another Subversion Bug - If Human player uses Subversion, it releases the unit from Computer ownership but doesn't assign it to the player correctly - it flashes with a red box during the move phase but it is not usable.

5. High Score ranking doesn't register a win - logged in or not.
