Hyperlinks

To create a new hyperlink you first need to select some content.  This can either be text or an image or both.  When you have selected your content click the Hyperlink button from the main toolbar and you will be presented with the Hyperlink dialog.

The Select a URL Dialog

You can link content to either another CMS page or some external web page.

Linking to a CMS Page

To link to another CMS page ensure the Local tab is selected.  Here you will be presented with a treeview of your website, select the page you wish to link to and click OK.

Linking to a File

Linking to a file is just as simple as linking to a page.  Select the File tab, here you will be presented with a list of files available in your Documents folder on the CMS server.

Linking to a File

Here we are linking to an image, we have also set the "Open in New Window" option.  To upload new documents you can use the File Manager admin tool from the Tools menu.

Linking to an External Web Page

If you wish to link to a web page outside of the CMS then ensure you select the Internet tab.

Linking to an External Website

Here you can enter the external web page URL in the textbox and click OK.

External web page URLs that you type will be remembered and will be displayed on future visits to the Hyperlink dialog.

Hyperlink Options

When choosing your Hyperlink you can also specify a Title for your link, this is displayed in a popup when a website visitor hovers their mouse over the link and provides more information on the link.

There are two radio options that determine whether a new browser window is opened when the website clicks the link.
