Formatting Controls

The toolbar at the top of the CMS editor screen contains some common formatting controls, these are listed and explained below:

The Main Toolbar

Cut

This places the selected content onto the clipboard and removes it from the editable content area.

Copy

Like Cut, this also places a copy of the selected content onto the clipboard but leaves the original intact.

Paste

This places the contents of the clipboard into the currently selected content area.

Format Painter

This will copy the format of the selected content.  By subsequently selected another piece of content the formatting will be applied to the new selection.

Undo

This will undo your previous content area operation.

Redo

This will redo your last content area undo operation.

Bold

This will make the selected text content bold in appearance.

Italic

This will make the selected text content italic in appearance.

Underline

This will make the selected text content underline in appearance.

Left Align

Selecting this will make content align to the left.

Center Align

Selecting this will center align content.

Right Align

Selecting this will align the selected content to the right.

Increase Indent

This will increase the indent for the selected content.

Decrease Indent

This will decrease the indent for the selected content.

Bulleted List

This will apply bullets to the selected content e.g:

  • Red
  • Green
  • Blue

Numbered List

This will apply a numbered list to the selected content e.g:

  1. Red
  2. Green
  3. Blue

Superscript

This will apply superscript formatting to the selected content e.g. H2O

Subscript

This will apply subscript formatting to the selected content e.g. ac

Strike-Through

This will apply a strike, a single line, through the selected text content e.g. something I did didn't do!

Align Top

This will align content to the top of the current line.

Align Middle

This will align content to the middle of the current line.

Align Bottom

This will align content to the bottom of the current line.

Foreground Color

This applies a color to the selected text content e.g. some red text!

Background Color

This applies a colored background to the selected text content e.g. some more red text!
